PROVIDING A HOME FOR TAINO HERITAGE

The Taino Heritage Camp at Coki Yukayeke is re-enactment of Pre-Colombian Taino living.

We are a registered independent school. We have been creating grassroots programs and workshops for over 20 years in Jamaica. All our workshops promote fun, interactivity and are fully immersive.

At The Foundation we respect the importance of learning through our Jamaican Ancestors and the affect a strong positive heritage can have on our culture. Knowing this we have developed a working yukayeke and conoco that focuses on Jamaica’s Taino and West African Heritage for our descendants to have access to ancestral Taino heritage.

All our workshops have been created with the Taino philosophy of working with nature and each other, so our in-house students, visiting students and groups will experience an environment that radiates family, sustainable living harmonious community, from our own indigenous perspective.

Coki Yukayeke is a family run yukayeke (village). Between us we have over 50 years of experience in - Cultural Studies, Education, Project Management, Business Development, and Resource Management.

We have collaborated with several regional yukayekes (Taino villages), institutions, local craftsmen and women, and various individuals from across the region. These partnerships provide the yukayeke with an authentic community and trade-based environment.
